It’s Bike of the Year time again and, for 2020, we’ve been busier than ever, putting together our most comprehensive test to date. This year, we’ve split our test into separate trail and enduro categories, so we can cover a broader range of what we think are the most exciting and potentially popular bikes currently on the market.

We've chosen different price brackets for each category – £2,500-£3,500 for trail and £3,500-£4,500 for enduro. Yes, we realise that’s a lot of money, but we really wanted to ensure that we could include some of the most relevant choices from some of the industry's most popular brands. As a result, this test has been our closest-fought, toughest-to-judge yet, which goes to show just how good bikes are right now.

Listed below you'll find the 10 contenders in each category, but you'll have to wait until the mag goes on sale (17 March) to read all the reviews and find out which two bikes we crowned as winners. You'll be able to read full reviews of every bike we tested, plus how we tested them, in the 36-page supplement that comes with our April issue.
