Our Summer 2017 issue is now available to buy, and features the incredible Rachel Atherton - Britain's most successful mountain biker, ever!
Inside this issue Rachel Atherton invites us to her home for a chat and a ride down some of her nearby training runs. Staff Writer Ed's the man who has to try to keep up with her, and has an incredible time following Rach down some seriously gnarly North Wales hillsides. He also gets the inside line from her as to what keeps her hungry for more success and why she's consistently the one to beat on the women's circuit.
MBUK have never been ones to shy away from a mad idea, so when the Flanagan brothers came to us and said they wanted to ride underground in some local caves we said, "Hell yeah, go for it."* We weren't entirely sure what they'd come back with to be honest, but the results blew us away!
The caves themselves provided an eery mix of beauty and isolation, and the boys actually got a bit of damp riding down there. See just how they did it in the issue.
After our inaugural Bike of the Year award a couple of issues back, we've followed it up with our Superbike of the Year test. These are essentially 'money no object' bikes, which although maybe out of the price range for most of us, are important because they feature the latest technology, which will soon trickle down to more affordable models. We've been testing 10 carefully-selected bikes over the past couple of months to find out which one is worthy of the prestigious title.
If you're looking to improve your skills, our MBUK team rider Al Bond shows you how to hit steep tracks, you can learn how to do the 'Switzerland Squeaker' with Danny MacAskill (no, it's not an extreme farting trick) and pick up some top tips if you're thinking of entering a mass-participation mountain bike event.
Happy riding everyone!
